As a volunteer event of ASIS&T CUA student chapter, LIS students, alumni, faculty, and their friends (Amy Chenaille, Martha Chapin, Amanda Johnson, Nfagie Kadda, Dr. Sung Un Kim, Kate Price, Katie Rodda, Sam Russell, Alisha Strother, Dr. Sue Yeon Syn, and Jessica Zeiler) visited the Washington Middle School for Girls’s (WMSG) new campus on Feb 8, Saturday, 2014. WMSG is an independent 4-8 grades Catholic Day School located in Southeast D.C.
To help them set up a library in the new campus, participants worked on cataloging, processing, shelf-reading, and shelf-signage in collaboration with Ms. Jill Gelman (Reading Specialist, WMSG) and Ms. Jennifer Froetcher (Librarian Consultant, WMSG).
The Catholic University of America Student Chapter of asis&t (Association for Information Science & Technology) was on hand to recruit new members at the CUA LIS Fall 2013 orientation on August 24, 2013.
